Plain English summary: HorseCamp does not require an account and does not run a user database for your horse records. Your rig, horse, document, and trip information is stored locally on your iPhone. The app does connect to public data services for campground data, weather, wildfire context, maps, directions, and optional share pages. If you create a check-in or trip share link, the information in that link can be viewed by anyone you share it with.

What the app connects to

HorseCamp uses network services so the app can show current and useful travel information. Depending on what you tap and what permissions you grant, the app may connect to:

These services may receive ordinary technical information needed to fulfill the request, such as your IP address, approximate/requested location, map search text, coordinates, or the URL you open. HorseCamp does not use advertising networks or sell personal data.

Location

If you grant location permission, HorseCamp uses your location to show nearby camps, nearby equine services, map context, weather context, and directions-related features. You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings. Some features may be less useful without location access.

Your horse health documents

Coggins certificates, health certificates, brand inspection records, vaccination records, and other document files you add are stored in the iPhone app sandbox. HorseCamp does not upload those original files to a HorseCamp account or document server.

Check-in and trip share links

If you create a check-in QR code or share link, the link may contain information you entered in the app, such as horse names, breed/color/sex, document type, certificate number, veterinarian name, expiration status, generated time, trip origin/destination, and stops. Anyone with that link or QR code can view the share page. Share links are intended for people you choose to send them to.

The original uploaded document files are not uploaded by the check-in QR/link feature.

No accounts, no sign-in

HorseCamp has no account system in the current iPhone app. You do not create a username or password. If we add accounts, subscriptions, reviews, analytics, or cloud sync in a future version, we will update this policy before shipping that version.

Children's privacy

HorseCamp is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third-party services

HorseCamp does not use advertising SDKs, social login, or third-party analytics SDKs in the current iPhone app. Apple services, public weather/map/geographic services, and websites you choose to open are governed by their own privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

If we change what data we collect or how app data is stored or shared, we will update this policy and revise the effective date above.
